Broker-owners ask me all the time whether a recruiting system really changes the numbers. Here’s one answer, in the client’s own words.
Jeremy and Lindsay Sinnes own John L. Scott Yakima in Yakima, Washington. They started 90 Days to Recruiting Success, Recruiting Insight’s 12-week coaching program, at 42 agents. A year later they sent me this note:
“When we started the recruiting training with you earlier this year, we had 42 agents. We recruited 17 new agents this year and bought a boutique brokerage, adding 16 additional agents. We grew to 75 agents and now have a 25% market share.”
The numbers
| Measure | Result |
|---|---|
| Agents at the start | 42 |
| New agents recruited | 17 |
| Agents added through an acquisition | 16 |
| Agents at year end | 75 |
| Market share | 25% |
What broker-owners can take from it
Recruiting alone grew the company by 40%. The 17 recruited agents, on a base of 42, are growth that came from daily recruiting, before counting the acquisition.
Count organic and acquired growth separately. Both matter, but they’re different engines. Knowing which one is working tells you where to put next year’s time and money.
An acquisition is only as good as the system that keeps those agents. Bringing 16 agents in at once is the start. Keeping them is the same daily work as keeping everyone else.
Congratulations to Jeremy, Lindsay and their team.
