Every 90 days, a quarter of the year is gone. That makes it time for a quarterly business and operations review. Is yours scheduled?
Are you ahead, behind or on track with your goals? Either way, “declare it perfect and move forward powerfully.” Review what’s working and what’s not, make the adjustments, and keep moving.
The Basic Agenda
- Mission, vision, values and stakeholders: any adjustments?
- Key KPIs: where you are against plan, and where your market is. Check inventory, prices and days on market in my live Altos Research market report.
- What’s working, and what’s not.
- Start, stop, more, less.
- Action steps: no more than two or three.
How to Run It
- Put it on the calendar now: the first week of January, April, July and October. A review that isn’t scheduled doesn’t happen.
- Keep it to 90 minutes. Bring the numbers ahead of time so the meeting is about decisions, not data gathering.
- Bring an accountability partner. Someone outside your day-to-day sees what you can’t.
- End with owners and dates. Every action step leaves the room with a name and a deadline.
The results will come, as long as we’re willing to execute the daily activities, track the results, change the behaviors and engage an accountability partner.
Are you interested in what’s left of this year, or committed to it?
