Have you heard of The Hope Quotient by Ray Johnston?
7 ways to increase hope:
- Recharge your batteries, don’t run on empty;
- Raise expectations by replacing FEAR with FAITH;
- Refocus on the future as anything is possible;
- Play to your strengths, delegate, outsource or eliminate the rest;
- Don’t go it alone; <– read that 2X
- Trade burnout for balance;
- Play offense, the doers are the winners.
Hope liberates, motivates, initiates, and activates. At the heart of it all: HOPE.
Because once you choose hope, anything is possible.
Hope Is a Leadership Tool
Your team takes its cue from you. When the market is slow, people don’t need a forecast; they need a reason to keep going. Share one win every week, name what’s within your control, and remind people where you’re headed. Hope spreads the same way fear does.
Put Hope Into Practice
Hope is not wishful thinking. It’s a choice you act on. This week, try three of the seven:
- Schedule one block of time to recharge, and protect it.
- List your top strengths, then delegate one task that isn’t on that list.
- Reach out to one person you trust so you don’t go it alone.
Hope grows when you move. Play offense.
